Sam Cooke‘s younger brother and member of the Chicago R&B group called The Magnificents, had vocal abilities that rivaled his brother. Backed by the renowned Los Angeles Wrecking Crew featuring musicians such as Earl Palmer, Plas Johnson, Harold Battiste and Clif Hills, Cooke signed with his brother’s newly-formed SAR Records label. He recorded his one and only album that featured studio musicians and SAR label mates, Bobby Womack, Billy Preston and Cecil Womack and songs written by Sam Cooke and arranged by RenĂ© Hall.
