Still waters run deep...
...this expression pretty much applies here as well. Hidden from public exposure, the name David May might put question marks on the faces of those who do not know. Mainly working behind the scenes, multi-instrumentalist David built a long list of achievements as a writer, composer and producer. As a graduate in classical music and sound engineering, he is responsible for many hit productions and a part of internationally successful projects, which people from all different genres should be aware of. His creativeness and versatility is reflected in the various styles ranging from House, Pop, R'n'B to Trance, of which Dave is capable of producing. Besides the House and Trance tracks mainly created under his guise David Prodygee at his own Panevino Village/Moonman Productions studio, he was also responsible producing for internationally successful acts such as the late Laura Brannigan, Katrina & The Waves, Taylor Dayne and the Dutch Band R.O.O.O.M. with whom he had a respectable success in the Charts.
For several years now, Dave is also responsible for the tracks and remixes he's producing together with internationally most recognized Swiss trance artists Dave202 and Dave Joy. Those partnerships led to further connections to work with DJ Shog, DuMonde, Alphazone, Yoji Biomehanika, Randy Katana and many others. He further started to work with American native Sean Tyas who relocated to Switzerland in 2006. They re-made Legend B's classic track LOST IN LOVE and landed one of the biggest club hits in 2007.
On the House production front, Dave was able to get Switzerland’s top act SIR COLIN on the roster with whom he had the biggest success so far producing originals, remixes and artist albums all achieving gold awards for multiple sales in Switzerland. Together with his studio partner Marc “MARQUITO” Zibung he's also working on tracks for international artists and songwriters such as Adrian Zagoritis, Geoffrey Williams (Michael Jackson/Teddy Riley), Nanna Martorell (Britney Spears), Matthew Tasa (Fusion/Peter Ries), Duane Harden (Bob Sinclar/Armand van Helden) and Fatman Scoop to only name a few.
David's debut Solo single, which he produced in co-operation with SVEN GREINER has the meaningful title "Superstar". The idea of this track came from a string sequence originally recorded for an orchestral version of the Rolling Stones' classic "The Last Time". 90's Indie band "The Verve" had a massive hit taking the string sample using it for their own single "Bitter Sweet Symphony". Dave and Sven have now replayed this world famous melody sequence and created a new track of its own merit, featuring ear catching vocals from MOISES MODESTO and DUANE HARDEN and squeezing them into a driving electro beat. Their new interpretation was given a full clearance from Rolling Stones' publisher ABKCO, who approved this title for release through DJ SHOGs "7th Sense Records" label. "Superstar" has a huge potential, ensuring it is bound to crossover in tomorrow's market and will instantly introduce David May not only as a producer, but also as a much wanted House and Electro DJ worldwide.
